Health and Developmental Screening

At this time, South Washington County Schools will postpone Health and Developmental Screening and will work with MDE to extend screening requirement deadlines if needed. Please continue to check the website for updates on screening appointment availability after May 18, 2020.

If you would like a free individualized parent consultation please contact licensed parent educator Courtney Braatz at cbraatz@sowashco.org or 651-300-4356. The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Screening in early childhood supports children's readiness for kindergarten and promotes health and development. Screening includes vision and hearing, height and weight, immunization review, large and small muscles, thinking, language and communication skills as well as social and emotional development.

Early Childhood Screening is recommended to be done at 3 years of age and is required for entrance into our district preschool programs as well as for Kindergarten enrollment in any Minnesota Public School.
