2020-21 Early Childhood Screening
The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Screening in early childhood supports children's readiness for kindergarten and promotes health and development. Screening includes large and small motor muscles, thinking, language and communication skills, as well as social and emotional development. Early Childhood Screening is a state requirement prior to kindergarten entrance in Minnesota Public Schools but is recommended at age 3. Minnesota Department of Education website.
Because early childhood screening is required, we now offer screening in the comfort of your own home with ASQ Online:
- You will receive a link to complete the ASQ Online developmental and social emotional questionnaires.
- We will schedule a phone consultation with you and our screening staff to summarize the results of the ASQ Online questionnaires.
Contact 651-425-6175 or srohr@sowashco.org to schedule an Hybrid or Virtual Screening appointment for your child.
