Visit Michael Watson's "Guide for Tuning String Instruments" to hear the string pitches and get directions on how to adjust the strings.

If turned the wrong way and too far, the strings could break and hurt you or your child. Instead we encourage the students to use the fine tuners which are near the bridge first. They are either black or silver, small screw-like objects. If the string needs major adjustments, then ask a parent to help you turn the pegs (near the top of the instrument).

If you are still having problems tuning, contact your child's orchestra director.
