Superintendent Keith Jacobus

The superintendent of schools is the chief administrative officer of the district, appointed by and directly responsible to the School Board. The superintendent serves as an ex-officio member of the board, facilitates the work of the board and is responsible to the board for providing direction and leadership to the school district.

Keith Jacobus, Ph.D., began as superintendent on July 1, 2012. Before joining the South Washington County Schools, Jacobus served as Assistant Superintendent of Leadership, Teaching and Learning, for the Osseo Area School District, Osseo, Minnesota. He has also been Director of Schools for the Douglas County School District in Castle Rock, Colorado. In addition, Jacobus served in various roles within the Lewis-Palmer School District in Monument, Colorado, including as the Executive Director of Learning Services, Executive Director of Personnel Services, and Principal of Lewis-Palmer High School.

Jacobus’ degrees include a Ph.D. from the University of Denver, a Masters in Education from Lesley College and a B.S. from Colorado State University.
