Are you interested in taking your swim skills to the next level? Want to learn how to help prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies? If so, then some of our certification and safety courses may be of interest to you.
Basic Water Rescue: This course prepares individuals for aquatic emergencies while protecting themselves. Safety discussion includes recognition, planning, self rescue and safely assisting others. Skill building will include utilizing rescue equipment and assisting others both in and out of the water. Those passing skills and a written exam will receive an American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue certificate.
This course or Lifeguard Training is required to become a Swim Aide.
Swim Aide Training: Our focus will be on personal presentation, support techniques, transitioning, corrective feedback, communication skills and games that improve skill development and build confidence. Application and Interview included in course. All class days are completed or made up before hire.
This course is required to become a Swim Aide.
Lifeguard Training: Through instructor demonstrations, lectures and videos, students will learn and demonstrate water rescue skills, CPR, AED, and First Aid skills. Students passing skill scenarios and written tests will receive Lifeguard Training and First Aid/CPR/AED for Lifeguard certificates.
This course is required to become a lifeguard.
Lifeguard Training Review: Current lifeguards participate in all the requirements of Lifeguard Training to renew their two year certification with the American Red Cross. This two day course begins with the pretest followed by performing rescue skills. Day two is CPR/AED/First Aid, written tests, water skills and scenarios.
