GED and K-12 Diploma

Program Requirements

In order to maintain a learning environment that is fair, and focused for all, we ask that you please read and adhere to the following:

  1. Minimum of 10 hours in person in our office (8400 East Point Douglas Rd. S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016) per week.
  2. Limit cell phone use to emergencies, please leave the room to take phone calls.
  3. All students must take notes on tutorials prior to receiving help from instructor on mastery/post tests.
    • This requires that you type or handwrite your own notes.
    • Notes printed directly from the tutorial do not meet this requirement.
  4. All work in each course is required.
  5. A Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium Diploma requires that you receive:
    • 80% or better on all mastery tests
    • 60% or better on all post tests
    • 80% or better on all applications, unit activities, and discussion posts
  6. In the event of an illness, family emergency, work scheduling issues, etc. students are expected and required to contact the Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium instructors prior to the absence.
  7. For your success, please leave your children at home/in daycare.
  8. If you have completed your work and are waiting for pick-up, please wait in the lobby for your ride to help alleviate distractions in the classroom for other students.
  9. Any student who is absent and has not contacted the instructor for 15 consecutive business days will be exited from the program.
  10. We are a fragrance-free classroom.
  11. This is an alcohol free and drug free facility.

GED

Our program offers GED preparation classes. Call our office to register at 651-425-6634. Physical attendance is required for this program. (10 hours per week minimum).

Morning, afternoon and evening classes will follow the district cancellation policies in regards to weather, safety and other emergencies.

K-12 Diploma

South Washington County Schools Great Rivers Adult Education Consortium offers diplomas from all four District 833 high schools. Physical attendance is required for this program. (10 hours per week minimum)

To begin the enrollment process you must visit the District Service Center located at 7362 East Point Douglas Road South in Cottage Grove. It will take several days to process your registration. Once the ACCESS Program receives your file you will be contacted by our staff to meet and plan for your completion.

  1. Please visit the District Student Information website for details on what is required for enrollment.
    • District Enrollment Form
    • Birth Certificate
    • Immunization Records
    • Current Transcript(s)
    • State ID
  2. If your previous school was not a South Washington County school please fill out a Request for Records.
  3. If you don't currently live in the South Washington County Schools boundaries, please fill out the Out of District Enrollment Form.

Morning, afternoon and evening classes will follow District 833's cancellation policies in regards to weather, safety and other school closings.
